Gulmi Jilla Samaj UK is made up of ex-Gulmelis, including ex-soldiers and their families and also some other Nepalese living in the UK. Last year they kindly funded the Hope Centre jeep ambulance which is serving the Gulmi community each and every day and patient care costs, including corrective surgery, mobility aids and hearing aids.

Today they have just contributed 400,000 rupees ( about $ 4600 US) to the running costs of the Centre which is vital to keep staff at work and active and effective. The donation was handed over in a ceremony held on December 24, 2014 in the presence of the Chief District Officer Mr Chandra Prasad Gaire, with Mr Rudra Thapa and Mr Narayan Shrestha presenting the cheque on behalf of Gulmi Samaj UK.

Many thanks to all fundraising members in UK! Mr Narayan Shrestha also gave a personal donation of 20,000 rupees after being inspired by our Hope Disability Centre work.

Mr Ram Prasad Sapkota also gave a prize of 20,000 rupees ( $250 US) to the top Secondary Leaving Certificate student in Gulmi District. Thanks so much also to the leadership of Arjun Gautam ( GJSUK President) and all Gulmi Jilla Samaj UK members who support Hope Centre and its many needy disabled kids, youth and adults who have struggled for many years now become mobile, healthy and independent !
